What if your spiritual awakening isn’t about becoming more enlightened… but about letting go of the identity of “being awakened” altogether?

In this powerful conversation with Patrick Paul Garlinger...Ivy League lawyer turned spiritual teacher, channel, and author, we peel back the truth behind why so many seekers feel stuck on their path… even after years of meditation, manifestation, energy healing, or intuition development.

Patrick reveals:

  • Why we confuse spiritual growth with performance
  • How we unconsciously avoid our deepest wounds (spiritual bypassing)
  • Why peace isn’t something we create, but something we allow
  • The real reason “fighting for peace” creates more conflict
  • How to find your soul purpose without abandoning your human life
This episode is for anyone who has ever thought:
“I should be further along by now.”

Or…

“I’ve done the work, so why do I still feel stuck?”

You are not failing. You’re unfolding.

Patrick also shares the story of his kundalini awakening, channels profound guidance, and offers tools for staying grounded while awakening your consciousness in the very real modern world.

If you’re seeking clarity, peace, and authentic inner transformation, this conversation will meet you exactly where you are.

00:00:00.600 --> 00:00:05.480
Hmmm, Karen, Yes, do you think right often?

2
00:00:05.519 --> 00:00:06.919
Oh?

3
00:00:06.799 --> 00:00:09.279
Ah, gotta let me finish sometimes pause.

4
00:00:09.400 --> 00:00:11.519
You don't like pause? I know I don't, but still

5
00:00:11.560 --> 00:00:12.599
you got to just let me finish.

6
00:00:12.960 --> 00:00:17.000
But Karen, yes, do you think world peace is something

7
00:00:17.039 --> 00:00:18.879
we can just manifest? Oh?

8
00:00:18.920 --> 00:00:22.199
God, I wish it was. I so wish it was.

9
00:00:22.719 --> 00:00:26.239
I'm talking like, if we all just collectively visualize holding

10
00:00:26.280 --> 00:00:29.399
hands across the globe while burning sage and chanting ome

11
00:00:29.800 --> 00:00:32.159
will fix politics, climate change and even Twitter.

12
00:00:32.240 --> 00:00:34.520
Right, Well, you're saying if we all so, if everyone

13
00:00:34.600 --> 00:00:37.200
was doing that, then yeah, there would just be no violence.

14
00:00:37.439 --> 00:00:39.679
Everybody holding hands, everybody.

15
00:00:39.799 --> 00:00:42.039
I guess that's a I guess that's a good point.

16
00:00:42.079 --> 00:00:46.520
If we're all holding hands, we can't actually fight, right exactly. Well,

17
00:00:46.640 --> 00:00:50.600
today's guest he's got a radically different take, and it

18
00:00:50.719 --> 00:00:53.640
might just be what we've all been waiting for. Oh see,

19
00:00:53.640 --> 00:00:56.840
he says that unity isn't about everyone agreeing, it's about

20
00:00:56.840 --> 00:01:02.280
something deeper. Oh seriously, just you thought you'd finally arrived

21
00:01:02.320 --> 00:01:05.879
on your spiritual path, Boom, this guy shows up and whispers, Yeah,

22
00:01:05.879 --> 00:01:07.640
but what if that's just your ego and a new

23
00:01:07.640 --> 00:01:08.599
pair of yoga pants.

24
00:01:08.959 --> 00:01:09.680
Damn it?

25
00:01:10.959 --> 00:01:14.079
He's an IVY League trained lawyer turned intuitive guide, a

26
00:01:14.120 --> 00:01:17.599
literary scholar with a PhD who channels divine insight, and

27
00:01:17.680 --> 00:01:21.159
he's got the receipts to prove it, awards, books, even

28
00:01:21.319 --> 00:01:27.040
a Kundalini awakening that probably short circuited half the Eastern seaboard. Today,

29
00:01:27.200 --> 00:01:30.799
we're digging into how season seekers get stuck into awakened identity,

30
00:01:31.079 --> 00:01:34.200
why fighting for peace might be the biggest contradiction of

31
00:01:34.239 --> 00:01:39.200
them all, why traditional activism sometimes works against spiritual wisdom,

32
00:01:39.680 --> 00:01:42.359
and how your inner transformation might just be the missing

33
00:01:42.400 --> 00:01:44.359
piece and the global unity puzzle.

34
00:01:44.480 --> 00:01:46.680
You realize this is only like a forty five minute

35
00:01:46.719 --> 00:01:49.159
show like three weeks.

36
00:01:49.040 --> 00:01:52.400
Well, spoiler alert, he's not here to just talk. He's

37
00:01:52.480 --> 00:01:55.680
actually launching something powerful, and he's announcing it on the

38
00:01:55.719 --> 00:01:58.359
show here with Us today, and he's even offering a

39
00:01:58.400 --> 00:01:59.879
live reading for us on the air.

40
00:02:00.640 --> 00:02:02.599
That's exciting or scary.

41
00:02:02.719 --> 00:02:05.760
So yeah, if I start crying, don't judge me. Unless

42
00:02:05.760 --> 00:02:08.759
it's like that beautiful cry, then record it in slow motion.

43
00:02:09.360 --> 00:02:12.479
I've seen you cry, true, It's it's never beautiful. This

44
00:02:12.680 --> 00:02:14.719
is definitely one of those you're not crazy, You're evolving

45
00:02:14.800 --> 00:02:17.680
kind of episodes. To stay tuned because the skeptic metusician starts.

46
00:02:17.719 --> 00:02:18.840
Now.

47
00:02:19.879 --> 00:02:23.280
My name is Will, and I'm garious, and unlike moulderin Scully.

48
00:02:23.080 --> 00:02:23.879
Both want to believe.

49
00:02:24.000 --> 00:02:25.879
So we've embarked in a journey of discovery.

50
00:02:25.960 --> 00:02:29.400
We've talked to people deeply entrenched in the spiritual metaphysical world.

51
00:02:29.439 --> 00:02:32.360
We've thrown ourselves into weird and wonderful experiences.

52
00:02:32.439 --> 00:02:33.520
I even joined a coven of.

53
00:02:33.439 --> 00:02:36.000
Witches and wait, you joined a coven?

54
00:02:36.199 --> 00:02:39.439
Yep, all the interests of finding something, anything that will

55
00:02:39.479 --> 00:02:41.960
prove that there's something beyond this physical.

56
00:02:41.599 --> 00:02:43.240
Three dimensional world we all live in.

57
00:02:43.439 --> 00:02:50.360
This is the skeptic metaphysicians. Hey there, I'm Will and

58
00:02:50.400 --> 00:02:50.840
I'm caring.

59
00:02:50.919 --> 00:02:54.599
Welcome back to the skeptic metasicians, where we don't just

60
00:02:54.719 --> 00:02:58.240
talk the talk and we walk the walk, but.

61
00:02:58.199 --> 00:03:00.879
We're really we kind of just talk and day walk.

62
00:03:00.960 --> 00:03:01.159
I know.

63
00:03:01.800 --> 00:03:02.000
Well.

64
00:03:02.159 --> 00:03:04.800
Anyway, our guest today's now your average spiritual teacher. He's

65
00:03:04.840 --> 00:03:07.840
a former professor and attorney whose journey from courtroom logic

66
00:03:07.919 --> 00:03:11.879
to cosmic wisdom is anything but predictable. With multiple award

67
00:03:11.919 --> 00:03:15.719
winning books, channel transmissions, and a gift for guiding others

68
00:03:15.719 --> 00:03:18.520
through the fog of awakening, He's become a trusted voice

69
00:03:18.520 --> 00:03:21.919
for those navigating the messy space between identity and soul.

70
00:03:22.439 --> 00:03:26.080
He challenges a spiritual status quo with bold insights on

71
00:03:26.240 --> 00:03:30.879
paradox ego traps and how seekers unknowingly stay stuck, all

72
00:03:30.919 --> 00:03:33.680
while offering a deeply grounded path to enter peace and

73
00:03:33.719 --> 00:03:37.639
collective healing. He's here to help us untangle awakening from

74
00:03:37.680 --> 00:03:40.439
performance and maybe even show us a way to heal

75
00:03:40.479 --> 00:03:43.199
the world from the insight out. Oh so, please welcome

76
00:03:43.520 --> 00:03:46.639
Patrick Paul Carlinger to the show. Patrick, nice to see you.

77
00:03:47.159 --> 00:03:49.680
Nice to see you. Thank you. I'm frankly now very

78
00:03:49.680 --> 00:03:51.759
intimidated by the lead, and I don't know if I'm

79
00:03:51.800 --> 00:03:55.680
having lost with this. Those are some amazing words. Thank you.

80
00:03:55.919 --> 00:03:58.400
Well, you know, we expect a lot from our guests,

81
00:03:58.439 --> 00:03:59.759
and this is no different Patrick.

82
00:04:00.599 --> 00:04:02.479
You don't have just anybody on the sholf.

83
00:04:04.759 --> 00:04:07.199
All right, Well, Like like we always do, we just

84
00:04:07.199 --> 00:04:09.840
want to dive right into the topic. And what really

85
00:04:10.520 --> 00:04:13.120
caught my attention in all of this introduction and all

86
00:04:13.159 --> 00:04:15.759
the research I did from you on you is that

87
00:04:16.120 --> 00:04:19.680
you say that being stuck is often misdiagnosed as a

88
00:04:19.720 --> 00:04:23.040
plateau when it actually could be a form of spiritual

89
00:04:23.079 --> 00:04:25.439
bypassing what what like?

90
00:04:25.480 --> 00:04:30.480
What?

91
00:04:30.480 --> 00:04:31.560
Well your best questions?

92
00:04:32.120 --> 00:04:34.279
That was a great question. Okay, what do you mean

93
00:04:34.360 --> 00:04:34.680
by that?

94
00:04:34.680 --> 00:04:35.000
Patrick?

95
00:04:35.759 --> 00:04:39.600
I mean I like you, You've got this better than

96
00:04:39.600 --> 00:04:42.279
I do. I want I want you to answer the question. Well,

97
00:04:42.360 --> 00:04:44.160
I think you've got more better answers than I've got.

98
00:04:44.240 --> 00:04:45.480
That was so well put.

99
00:04:46.680 --> 00:04:49.519
Should we just replayed the intro exactly?

100
00:04:52.199 --> 00:04:55.160
So? Getting stuck? You know, people come to me all

101
00:04:55.160 --> 00:04:57.480
the time they're like, I'm stuck, I'm stuck, I'm stuck.

102
00:04:59.480 --> 00:05:03.480
And most of the time, you know, what they're stuck

103
00:05:03.560 --> 00:05:06.560
with is some sense that what they're what they're what

104
00:05:06.600 --> 00:05:09.319
they're going through, is like they shouldn't be going through this,

105
00:05:09.680 --> 00:05:13.360
like they should be beyond this already. Yes here, that's right,

106
00:05:13.639 --> 00:05:17.480
still doing this. Yeah, yeah, welcome to the human condition.

107
00:05:17.720 --> 00:05:23.240
We're all yeah, but all stuck.

108
00:05:23.319 --> 00:05:26.920
But sometimes, but there's sometimes where you feel a lot

109
00:05:26.959 --> 00:05:30.199
more connected than others. Right, There's there's and and and

110
00:05:30.879 --> 00:05:34.319
a lot of times when you feel like you Okay,

111
00:05:34.519 --> 00:05:37.319
I'm gonna just speak from my own personal experience. I've

112
00:05:37.319 --> 00:05:39.720
been doing the show for a long time now, and

113
00:05:39.839 --> 00:05:42.439
I feel like I should at least have my toe

114
00:05:42.639 --> 00:05:45.399
stuck out of my body, but nothing nothing?

115
00:05:45.560 --> 00:05:49.360
So what is it? Why is it that my phone

116
00:05:49.560 --> 00:05:52.399
is ringing when it should be on mute? Sorry about that?

117
00:05:54.000 --> 00:05:56.000
How is it that that no matter how much work

118
00:05:56.040 --> 00:05:59.000
we do, it's still it still doesn't get us to

119
00:05:59.000 --> 00:05:59.680
where we need to be?

120
00:06:00.160 --> 00:06:03.240
Mm right, well there's the first part, right. The first

121
00:06:03.240 --> 00:06:05.439
problem is you know where we need to be? Like

122
00:06:05.879 --> 00:06:08.839
where you need to be is are already? Like right away?

123
00:06:09.079 --> 00:06:11.079
The question that's like in the way of like where

124
00:06:11.120 --> 00:06:12.759
do you need to be? You've got some desire, you

125
00:06:12.759 --> 00:06:14.439
want to be somewhere, you want to be somewhere else

126
00:06:14.439 --> 00:06:20.519
where you are? Which did I mention I'm having a day?

127
00:06:22.439 --> 00:06:25.519
Yeah, I'm going to drop an edit point here.

128
00:06:25.600 --> 00:06:31.920
That's good, okay, sorry, So yeah, no, And most of

129
00:06:31.920 --> 00:06:34.680
the time, you know, when when I work with people

130
00:06:34.759 --> 00:06:37.199
and they come to me around being stuck whatever they're

131
00:06:37.319 --> 00:06:41.920
claiming to be stuck in, right, Like, so sometimes instead

132
00:06:41.920 --> 00:06:43.600
of what you said, I want to desire, I want

133
00:06:43.600 --> 00:06:45.920
to be somewhere, I want to be experiencing bliss all

134
00:06:45.959 --> 00:06:46.279
the time?

135
00:06:46.480 --> 00:06:49.279
Yes I do. Oh yeah, well yeah, you and me both.

136
00:06:49.680 --> 00:06:53.199
I mean, you know, for all the Kundalini awakenings, and

137
00:06:53.680 --> 00:06:55.560
you know, moments that I go into somebody and my

138
00:06:55.680 --> 00:06:58.759
chakras are lit up. You know, I've got a thousand

139
00:06:58.920 --> 00:07:02.759
other experiences. Is a you know, my emotions are here

140
00:07:02.759 --> 00:07:05.480
and there, and yes, I'm fully aware of what's going on,

141
00:07:05.560 --> 00:07:08.839
and yet I'm also really human, and so when things

142
00:07:08.879 --> 00:07:11.879
get stuck, when things really like sort of hold on,

143
00:07:12.759 --> 00:07:16.600
it's what it's just that's what needs to be given

144
00:07:16.639 --> 00:07:18.759
attention to. And what I find this goes back to

145
00:07:18.759 --> 00:07:21.600
your bypassingly, is we So many people are like they

146
00:07:21.680 --> 00:07:25.560
want to move through it fast. They're like, this shows up. Wait,

147
00:07:25.639 --> 00:07:28.279
I've got tools, I'm gonna heal it, I'm gonna rake it.

148
00:07:28.480 --> 00:07:31.720
I'm calling in this say you know, archangel, I'm doing that. Like,

149
00:07:32.120 --> 00:07:35.680
let's move it along. And sometimes what you really have

150
00:07:35.759 --> 00:07:39.959
to do is just feel again and again and again.

151
00:07:40.720 --> 00:07:44.639
And sometimes that sucks to be blonde. It just sucks

152
00:07:44.680 --> 00:07:45.560
to be human.

153
00:07:45.600 --> 00:07:49.600
Right right, So I hear what you're saying. But so

154
00:07:49.800 --> 00:07:52.839
often we're told if you if you think that, if

155
00:07:52.839 --> 00:07:55.199
you feel that, you know, if you let that fear

156
00:07:55.279 --> 00:07:57.319
or whatever into your brain, you're going to manifest that,

157
00:07:57.519 --> 00:08:00.480
and that's what's going to happen. Oh I love, that's scary.

158
00:08:01.000 --> 00:08:03.560
Yeah, Well, you know I I love to throw that

159
00:08:03.600 --> 00:08:06.199
one right into the dustbin of well, thank you, because

160
00:08:06.399 --> 00:08:10.720
like that whole magnetic model, I'm just like everything you feel. Yeah,

161
00:08:10.759 --> 00:08:14.199
if you went around believing it, nurturing it, holding on

162
00:08:14.319 --> 00:08:17.319
to it. Oh where you know, whatever it is that

163
00:08:17.319 --> 00:08:20.920
you're feeling, Oh yeah, you probably will manifest it. You're

164
00:08:20.959 --> 00:08:22.920
putting out a lot of energy. If you're just feeling

165
00:08:22.959 --> 00:08:25.000
it in your body, it's not going to happen. That

166
00:08:25.120 --> 00:08:27.160
is one thing that happened. I'm glad you raised that, Kara,

167
00:08:27.240 --> 00:08:29.199
because that's something that people do all the time. Manye

168
00:08:29.240 --> 00:08:31.399
they feel it. Oh no, I'm gonna if I feel

169
00:08:32.039 --> 00:08:34.480
a lot of anger, I'm going to like manifest something

170
00:08:34.519 --> 00:08:37.960
I feel fear, I'm gonna manifest it. You know. Most

171
00:08:37.960 --> 00:08:40.120
of the time, it's just there's something in us that

172
00:08:40.320 --> 00:08:44.480
really wants to be felt, and so many spiritual people

173
00:08:44.519 --> 00:08:48.039
get really caught up in lots of really fancy techniques,

174
00:08:48.120 --> 00:08:50.440
want to move energy and do things like that and

175
00:08:50.440 --> 00:08:53.120
get rid of it. You know, at one point in

176
00:08:53.200 --> 00:08:57.320
the pandemic, I was super depressed weeks and weeks and weeks. Now,

177
00:08:57.399 --> 00:08:58.879
of course it's a pandemic. You know, there's a lot

178
00:08:58.919 --> 00:09:02.000
going on, but Basically I could not budge this. Nothing

179
00:09:02.080 --> 00:09:05.679
would move, you know, all the techniques and prayer, et cetera.

180
00:09:05.840 --> 00:09:09.679
And I finally just was like, oh yeah, I just

181
00:09:09.759 --> 00:09:12.840
need to feel it. And I sat and I sat

182
00:09:12.879 --> 00:09:18.159
and I sat, and finally I broke into like absolute

183
00:09:18.200 --> 00:09:22.159
sobbing tears as this piece of me came up. It

184
00:09:22.200 --> 00:09:23.600
was a ten year old self.

185
00:09:24.080 --> 00:09:24.399
Wow.

186
00:09:24.759 --> 00:09:28.559
Well, when my parents got divorced, who said who is

187
00:09:28.679 --> 00:09:31.240
going to take care of me? Because it was like

188
00:09:31.320 --> 00:09:34.360
in the pandemic, everything's fallen apart, like you know, you

189
00:09:34.480 --> 00:09:37.879
wonder And I was like, oh my god, there's this

190
00:09:38.000 --> 00:09:40.799
little piece of me when my parents got divorced that

191
00:09:41.000 --> 00:09:44.519
just needed to be hurt. And I wasn't gonna like

192
00:09:45.720 --> 00:09:49.039
you know, archangel, Reiki, Matt, you know, that didn't need

193
00:09:49.039 --> 00:09:50.879
to It didn't need to be moved, It needed to

194
00:09:50.919 --> 00:09:53.360
be felt. So this is what I come to again

195
00:09:53.399 --> 00:09:55.720
and again, is a lot of people back to your point,

196
00:09:55.879 --> 00:09:58.159
will they bypassed it because we just don't want to

197
00:09:58.159 --> 00:10:00.000
feel it, because we want to get back to feeling blissed.

198
00:10:00.159 --> 00:10:03.000
Right, right, that's a perfect explanation of spiritual bypassing.

199
00:10:03.039 --> 00:10:03.159
Right.

200
00:10:03.159 --> 00:10:05.840
It's not feeling into the shadows, it's just everything can

201
00:10:05.840 --> 00:10:08.240
be fine, love and light, nothing's wrong, It's all good.

202
00:10:08.519 --> 00:10:08.639
Right.

203
00:10:08.679 --> 00:10:10.559
Sometimes you have to go through the shadow to get

204
00:10:10.559 --> 00:10:11.080
the other side.

205
00:10:11.159 --> 00:10:15.600
But what if you get stuck in that feeling? You know?

206
00:10:15.960 --> 00:10:17.519
Or are you stuck? I supposed to just be in

207
00:10:17.559 --> 00:10:20.039
there for a certain apparent time I need to help.

208
00:10:21.480 --> 00:10:24.600
That's a great question, because the skill is learning how

209
00:10:24.600 --> 00:10:26.720
to sort of touch it for a while and really

210
00:10:26.759 --> 00:10:30.080
touch it, and then knowing when you are getting submerged

211
00:10:30.159 --> 00:10:32.240
and you need to step back and you need to

212
00:10:32.279 --> 00:10:33.840
sort of put it down for a little bit and

213
00:10:33.879 --> 00:10:36.600
come back. And that's a skill that you know in

214
00:10:36.799 --> 00:10:39.960
Buddhism and mindfulness, particularly around sort of touching this sort

215
00:10:40.000 --> 00:10:44.559
of stuff gently and not getting subsumed by it. That

216
00:10:45.360 --> 00:10:47.240
takes some That takes some skill as well.

217
00:10:48.960 --> 00:10:51.840
So is there such a thing as too much inner work?

218
00:10:53.120 --> 00:10:54.519
Like when does he only become hiding?

219
00:10:55.399 --> 00:10:59.759
Ah beautifully put? Yeah, I mean I think that if

220
00:11:00.200 --> 00:11:06.399
you are withdrawing from the world, not interacting with people.

221
00:11:07.519 --> 00:11:09.639
And I know people like this won't name names, but

222
00:11:09.679 --> 00:11:12.519
I know people in the world who are you know, teachers,

223
00:11:13.159 --> 00:11:16.440
publisheds et cetera, who are just like, yeah, I can't

224
00:11:16.519 --> 00:11:17.960
I don't want to deal with people. I just want

225
00:11:17.960 --> 00:11:19.559
to do my inner work. And I was like, well,

226
00:11:19.720 --> 00:11:22.159
you are the world. That doesn't mean you have to

227
00:11:22.240 --> 00:11:25.279
interact with everyone, But you basically said, I'm going to

228
00:11:25.360 --> 00:11:28.039
withdraw from the parts of me that are triggering me,

229
00:11:28.559 --> 00:11:30.639
because that's what we do when we withdraw. So if

230
00:11:30.639 --> 00:11:36.639
we're describing inner work as sitting in meditation, not interacting

231
00:11:36.639 --> 00:11:40.840
with people, not engaging with things that trigger us, then

232
00:11:41.039 --> 00:11:43.600
we're not We are really hiding, and we're actually hiding

233
00:11:43.679 --> 00:11:46.200
from the parts of us that get triggered, which is

234
00:11:46.279 --> 00:11:47.879
what we actually should be working on.

235
00:11:47.960 --> 00:11:48.279
Wow.

236
00:11:48.600 --> 00:11:51.840
All right, well I got a little work to do.

237
00:11:52.399 --> 00:11:54.039
I mean I kind of both do.

238
00:11:55.200 --> 00:11:57.840
So, I mean, would you recommend to someone, So, say,

239
00:11:57.840 --> 00:11:59.720
someone is kind of in the situation where they're trying

240
00:11:59.759 --> 00:12:01.320
to work on something and they're really feeling like they're

241
00:12:01.320 --> 00:12:04.639
getting stuck in that emotional pit. I mean, should at

242
00:12:04.639 --> 00:12:06.600
that point, should they reach out to someone like you

243
00:12:06.679 --> 00:12:09.559
to help, or a therapist or their friends or just

244
00:12:09.639 --> 00:12:10.919
kind of write it out.

245
00:12:11.519 --> 00:12:14.720
Yeah. Yeah. When I read people who've come to me

246
00:12:14.840 --> 00:12:18.799
with stuck issue, it's usually that they can't quite see it,

247
00:12:18.840 --> 00:12:21.159
and that's where you do benefit. You do need somebody

248
00:12:21.200 --> 00:12:23.480
who can eliminate that perspective. And sometimes that can be

249
00:12:23.519 --> 00:12:25.440
a therapist. People come to me and all the time

250
00:12:25.480 --> 00:12:28.000
and then I'm like, oh, this, what's going on with

251
00:12:28.039 --> 00:12:30.600
you is from this age or this say or this thing.

252
00:12:31.519 --> 00:12:34.159
And sometimes it's it's a deep level trauma, you know,

253
00:12:34.200 --> 00:12:37.320
it's like physical abuse, sexual abuse, something like that. That's

254
00:12:37.360 --> 00:12:41.639
like I'll send somebody to a trauma dealer process.

255
00:12:41.960 --> 00:12:44.360
I never thought about that. That's a perfect like complimentary,

256
00:12:44.440 --> 00:12:46.519
like you know, Eastern Western medicine sort of thing, and

257
00:12:46.559 --> 00:12:48.600
I can find what's going on and then you can.

258
00:12:48.879 --> 00:12:50.960
Take care of It's cool.

259
00:12:50.960 --> 00:12:54.559
I never thought of that symbiotic relationship.

260
00:12:54.960 --> 00:12:57.200
Yeah, I mean some people like they don't realize that

261
00:12:57.240 --> 00:13:00.000
they need to go to a therapist and or you know,

262
00:13:00.120 --> 00:13:02.120
more often than not, what I find is that people

263
00:13:02.120 --> 00:13:07.720
are like, well but I've I've healed that, and I'm like, okay,

264
00:13:10.799 --> 00:13:13.039
you have free will and you have power, you have sovereignty,

265
00:13:13.200 --> 00:13:16.240
But it doesn't read that way to me or.

266
00:13:16.200 --> 00:13:20.600
Anyone else around you actually, right, I know people like that. Yeah,

267
00:13:20.600 --> 00:13:23.879
not to name any names either, right exactly do you

268
00:13:23.919 --> 00:13:28.320
mean to look at you? Sorry here, But sometimes it

269
00:13:28.440 --> 00:13:31.000
just takes a shift in perspective to be like, oh, well,

270
00:13:31.080 --> 00:13:33.440
this piece that's going on or this is just coming up,

271
00:13:33.679 --> 00:13:39.639
you know, and again not to I'm incredibly careful about confidentiality,

272
00:13:39.639 --> 00:13:41.000
but just to share to give a point.

273
00:13:41.399 --> 00:13:46.159
You know, I read somebody and this this memory kept

274
00:13:46.200 --> 00:13:48.519
coming up, and it just was sort of this image.

275
00:13:49.440 --> 00:13:51.960
It was just it kept resurfacing as I'm like tuning

276
00:13:52.000 --> 00:13:55.320
in atos a person. I'm just keept getting this image

277
00:13:56.120 --> 00:14:01.720
of you and this animal. And the person was like,

278
00:14:01.759 --> 00:14:05.799
oh yeah, that was the one source of love when

279
00:14:05.799 --> 00:14:08.559
I was a child, and then went on to describe

280
00:14:08.600 --> 00:14:13.399
the family and the family life. Was like, whoa, that

281
00:14:13.519 --> 00:14:15.480
wasn't even what was coming through. What was coming through

282
00:14:15.559 --> 00:14:19.360
was this one memory. And then this client said, you know,

283
00:14:20.080 --> 00:14:22.639
I often find this, these memories keep coming back, but

284
00:14:22.679 --> 00:14:25.000
I just, you know, I'm not sure I'm really ready

285
00:14:25.039 --> 00:14:28.600
to like that's what's happened. Like literally, these memories are

286
00:14:28.720 --> 00:14:32.600
pulling in to say look at me. And so when

287
00:14:32.639 --> 00:14:36.720
that person was stuck, is that the mind and the

288
00:14:36.720 --> 00:14:40.480
body were telling them this is where we want to go.

289
00:14:40.480 --> 00:14:43.320
Go back to the bypassing question, and I just had

290
00:14:43.320 --> 00:14:45.639
to be blunts, like you got to do this work.

291
00:14:45.720 --> 00:14:48.679
This is the stuff, like you know, whether it's with

292
00:14:48.720 --> 00:14:51.600
a therapist or you just being honest, like, Okay, I

293
00:14:51.639 --> 00:14:53.799
got to grapple with what mom and dad did to.

294
00:14:53.759 --> 00:14:56.080
Me, right, And it comes down to the fact that

295
00:14:56.360 --> 00:15:00.120
we've talked so many times about you can't just the

296
00:15:00.200 --> 00:15:03.759
switch and become awakened. You have to do the work.

297
00:15:04.080 --> 00:15:07.360
And so often do I go out there in the

298
00:15:07.399 --> 00:15:10.639
world and feel i do a podcast about spiritual awakenings,

299
00:15:10.679 --> 00:15:13.559
I'm very awakened, and only to realize I haven't done

300
00:15:13.639 --> 00:15:16.519
Jack squat when it comes to all these interviews, and

301
00:15:16.519 --> 00:15:18.559
so no wonder I'm stuck in the same damn place

302
00:15:18.600 --> 00:15:20.559
I was when it first started. Right, I actually have

303
00:15:20.559 --> 00:15:21.279
to put the work into it.

304
00:15:21.279 --> 00:15:21.840
I totally get it.

305
00:15:21.919 --> 00:15:23.000
You've done some work I have.

306
00:15:23.200 --> 00:15:26.120
You've done some work I have. You're dying You've done some.

307
00:15:26.120 --> 00:15:27.919
Work I have, I have, I have, But I have

308
00:15:27.960 --> 00:15:30.799
a long way to go, a lot more work to go.

309
00:15:30.960 --> 00:15:33.600
We all have. I've done so much work. And then

310
00:15:33.600 --> 00:15:37.399
there are times I'm like, wait, this thing, it's still there,

311
00:15:38.720 --> 00:15:42.279
and then we kind of go, yeah, it's still there. Okay,

312
00:15:43.080 --> 00:15:48.039
another little layer, another little layerly hardwired, and you do

313
00:15:48.120 --> 00:15:53.039
not have accept that part of yourself which is like, okay,

314
00:15:53.559 --> 00:15:55.320
this is who I am. This is you know, and

315
00:15:55.360 --> 00:15:58.159
not in a sort of like I'm fatalistic, like I'm stuck,

316
00:15:58.519 --> 00:16:02.480
this is forever, right, But yeah, you know it's I

317
00:16:02.759 --> 00:16:06.279
wish I wish more people could just be really honest,

318
00:16:06.720 --> 00:16:12.639
especially people who people like me who put out books

319
00:16:12.679 --> 00:16:15.039
and appear as guests on podcasts.

320
00:16:15.600 --> 00:16:21.120
We got our stuff, right, Yeah, I mean the epitome

321
00:16:21.120 --> 00:16:23.799
of the cliche, right, is it the therapist that needs therapy.

322
00:16:24.399 --> 00:16:24.639
Yeah.

323
00:16:24.720 --> 00:16:27.120
They say that a lot of therapists get into therapy,

324
00:16:27.799 --> 00:16:30.840
into the therapy business because of their need for therapy,

325
00:16:31.360 --> 00:16:33.639
and they get it for free. So maybe that, oh,

326
00:16:33.720 --> 00:16:35.879
I just a new career path three you.

327
00:16:37.799 --> 00:16:40.679
But you know, we've interviewed hundreds of people, and we

328
00:16:40.759 --> 00:16:43.600
do from time to time come across someone who said, well,

329
00:16:43.639 --> 00:16:45.679
you know, it was I don't know, on a mountain

330
00:16:45.679 --> 00:16:48.240
bike and had an accident or I was in a

331
00:16:48.240 --> 00:16:49.919
car accident and then you know, all of a sudden,

332
00:16:49.919 --> 00:16:52.639
I started hearing voices and I had this awakening experience.

333
00:16:53.480 --> 00:16:56.240
And I mean, I'm jealous, except for the accident part.

334
00:16:56.600 --> 00:16:57.480
You know, I don't want that.

335
00:16:57.679 --> 00:17:01.120
But but what's your take on that? If they're not

336
00:17:01.159 --> 00:17:04.759
necessarily doing work all of a sudden, you have an awakening.

337
00:17:04.720 --> 00:17:07.039
Yeah, you know, because that's not my experience. I mean,

338
00:17:07.119 --> 00:17:10.000
I did have my own kind of like my life

339
00:17:10.000 --> 00:17:12.480
fell apart. Who the lead me awakening is little Well,

340
00:17:12.480 --> 00:17:15.680
that basically came later, and that was definitely a period

341
00:17:15.720 --> 00:17:18.319
a moment of grace. But you know, I went through

342
00:17:19.000 --> 00:17:22.440
you know, basically it's just like a mental breakdown and

343
00:17:23.000 --> 00:17:25.359
was like what am I doing with my life? And

344
00:17:25.400 --> 00:17:28.119
then all of a sudden, the universe started sending me.

345
00:17:28.200 --> 00:17:30.200
You know, a friend of mine was like, oh, you

346
00:17:30.200 --> 00:17:33.000
should go see this friend of mine who's a psychic.

347
00:17:32.640 --> 00:17:37.359
And I was like, oh yeah, And then all of

348
00:17:37.359 --> 00:17:40.480
a sudden, all these Indian divine mother figures started showing

349
00:17:40.559 --> 00:17:41.960
up and they're like you should go see this, and

350
00:17:42.079 --> 00:17:44.039
all of a sudden, you know, just the world open up.

351
00:17:44.079 --> 00:17:48.759
But you know, it took me being basically beaten down

352
00:17:48.839 --> 00:17:51.759
by life to the point where I was like what

353
00:17:51.960 --> 00:17:54.799
is wrong with me? But I didn't have you know,

354
00:17:55.160 --> 00:17:58.319
the near death experience, the accidents or whatnot, So I

355
00:17:58.359 --> 00:18:02.039
can't speak to that other than the experience that I've had,

356
00:18:02.119 --> 00:18:04.480
like the Kundalini awakening, which did come after a lot

357
00:18:04.480 --> 00:18:10.720
of work, but completely unexpected unplaned for no desire attached

358
00:18:10.759 --> 00:18:14.799
to It just happens. So I can't judge them for

359
00:18:14.839 --> 00:18:17.279
their experience. But if it happens, it happens.

360
00:18:17.720 --> 00:18:20.839
But it's interesting what you just said, but both of you,

361
00:18:20.920 --> 00:18:23.400
because you said some people will get into accidents or

362
00:18:23.440 --> 00:18:26.079
having your death experience or something like that. Other people

363
00:18:26.680 --> 00:18:31.279
have to hit rock bottom before these starts things start moving.

364
00:18:31.000 --> 00:18:34.039
Beaten down by life, beaten down by a tree.

365
00:18:35.359 --> 00:18:37.279
You just got to get beaten down with sort of

366
00:18:37.279 --> 00:18:38.160
beat down that gonna happen.

367
00:18:38.880 --> 00:18:41.000
So and we've also talked on the show about the

368
00:18:41.000 --> 00:18:42.839
fact that the universe starts with a whisper and ends

369
00:18:42.880 --> 00:18:44.400
up with a two by four to the head. So

370
00:18:44.559 --> 00:18:48.240
I'm assuming that what you're saying, what we're saying here

371
00:18:48.799 --> 00:18:52.079
is get down and do the work before you get

372
00:18:52.160 --> 00:18:53.319
hit by a two by four.

373
00:18:53.640 --> 00:18:59.920
Oh true, although or by Ahmet, I did start with

374
00:19:00.079 --> 00:19:03.599
the whisper though I started. You know, I was a

375
00:19:03.720 --> 00:19:07.119
gym bunny in Atlanta, Georgia going to a gym where

376
00:19:07.160 --> 00:19:09.480
all of a sudden, at my gym there was a

377
00:19:09.519 --> 00:19:11.720
power yoga class and I was like, oh, I could

378
00:19:11.759 --> 00:19:14.039
do that, because of course I'm a gym but I

379
00:19:14.079 --> 00:19:15.799
was like, I can do that. So I went to

380
00:19:15.839 --> 00:19:19.039
power yoga in terms that it was a serious ashtanga

381
00:19:19.279 --> 00:19:21.559
class top by somebody who had trained in my sore

382
00:19:21.599 --> 00:19:24.079
and was like giving me Sanskrit and I was sweating.

383
00:19:24.079 --> 00:19:25.440
I didn't know what was gone, but I loved it.

384
00:19:25.799 --> 00:19:29.079
So I discovered all that, and that still didn't prevent

385
00:19:29.480 --> 00:19:33.000
the two by four because I wasn't really really really listening.

386
00:19:33.160 --> 00:19:36.480
You know, at the end of the day, you're going

387
00:19:36.519 --> 00:19:38.799
to have the awakening that you need. I mean, I

388
00:19:38.920 --> 00:19:41.759
have looked back at that experience right and said, why

389
00:19:41.839 --> 00:19:44.480
could I not have a Why couldn't I have avoided

390
00:19:45.480 --> 00:19:48.039
Why didn't I get to wake up earlier? Ten years earlier?

391
00:19:48.039 --> 00:19:52.000
Where would I be now? Yeah, didn't happen. That's part

392
00:19:52.039 --> 00:19:54.599
of accepting. This goes back to one of your original

393
00:19:54.720 --> 00:19:58.720
your first question will about spiritual speakers being stuck. One

394
00:19:58.720 --> 00:20:01.680
of the ways that people get thought is they have

395
00:20:01.759 --> 00:20:04.519
a sort of sense of like, this is the way

396
00:20:04.559 --> 00:20:07.200
it should have been, this is how it was supposed

397
00:20:07.240 --> 00:20:11.039
to go. Oh, and then I've had my awakening and

398
00:20:11.079 --> 00:20:14.359
now I'm supposed to get to bliss. It's supposed to,

399
00:20:14.519 --> 00:20:18.160
supposed to supposed to as opposed to as opposed to

400
00:20:18.279 --> 00:20:23.839
life taking you where you actually need to go, right, surrender.

401
00:20:23.920 --> 00:20:26.160
I was gonna say it is about surrender. We're so

402
00:20:26.279 --> 00:20:28.559
taught in this culture specifically you got to make the plans,

403
00:20:28.599 --> 00:20:30.079
You got to make the appointments and the dates and

404
00:20:30.119 --> 00:20:34.000
the calendars and the whatever. So you control everything, and

405
00:20:34.039 --> 00:20:35.720
so you know how you want things to be. So

406
00:20:35.839 --> 00:20:38.000
I guess it makes sense you would think you know

407
00:20:38.119 --> 00:20:40.279
how your awakening is going to happen because you're just

408
00:20:40.359 --> 00:20:42.599
kind of used to kind of thinking a couple steps

409
00:20:42.599 --> 00:20:44.440
ahead of game. So you have to let go of

410
00:20:44.519 --> 00:20:45.880
any thought of knowing that.

411
00:20:45.880 --> 00:20:48.720
That's yeah, well take it a step further. It is

412
00:20:48.799 --> 00:20:52.039
the physical being that has to control because we have

413
00:20:52.079 --> 00:20:55.720
to survive. Yeah, and then we are here to relinquish

414
00:20:55.759 --> 00:21:00.880
that physical in surrender into the spiritual. And we're having

415
00:21:00.880 --> 00:21:03.839
a difficult time making the transition to we're stuck into

416
00:21:03.839 --> 00:21:05.920
three D. So we need to actually, another way of saying,

417
00:21:05.960 --> 00:21:06.759
got to get to the five D.

418
00:21:07.680 --> 00:21:11.640
Did I just say what you said? Dang it?

419
00:21:13.359 --> 00:21:15.240
I thought it was a different I thought it was

420
00:21:15.279 --> 00:21:16.119
going down further.

421
00:21:16.240 --> 00:21:18.640
I just like to think we think similar about this topic.

422
00:21:18.759 --> 00:21:20.960
Yeah, but no, I shouldn't be doing that anyway, I'm

423
00:21:21.000 --> 00:21:22.880
going to get better. I'm gonna drop an edit point here,

424
00:21:28.480 --> 00:21:31.960
Yes i am, because that's terrible. All right, Well, you

425
00:21:32.319 --> 00:21:36.359
so generously offered to do a brief reading on us,

426
00:21:36.400 --> 00:21:37.799
and I do want to get to that at some

427
00:21:37.920 --> 00:21:41.119
point very soon before we forget, because that is really

428
00:21:41.160 --> 00:21:44.079
the most important thing after all. But not I'm just thing.

429
00:21:44.640 --> 00:21:50.400
But I do want to talk about peace, yes, yeah, peace. Yes, first,

430
00:21:50.799 --> 00:21:57.079
let's maybe define it a little bit when it comes

431
00:21:57.079 --> 00:22:01.599
to us, Like what does peace feel like in your body? Right?

432
00:22:01.839 --> 00:22:05.880
Well, it's a great question because so many times when

433
00:22:05.920 --> 00:22:08.519
we talk about peace, we're really talking about like the

434
00:22:08.599 --> 00:22:13.599
absence of conflict or the cessation of conflict, like taking

435
00:22:13.759 --> 00:22:18.440
break from war or conflict, and like that's peace, and

436
00:22:18.480 --> 00:22:21.920
that's just the pause in war. That's not really peace

437
00:22:23.079 --> 00:22:23.599
at all.

438
00:22:24.720 --> 00:22:30.400
You know, it's so depressing, right, But peace is really

439
00:22:30.720 --> 00:22:39.640
the state of being.

440
00:22:36.000 --> 00:22:40.480
A feeling and believing that whatever is happening right now

441
00:22:42.240 --> 00:22:46.000
is okay, just as it is like whatever is happening

442
00:22:46.039 --> 00:22:48.400
in your life. We want to keep it really simple.

443
00:22:48.440 --> 00:22:50.319
We don't have to get into like the whole world

444
00:22:50.519 --> 00:22:54.079
just yet. But like, now are you at peace? Like

445
00:22:54.440 --> 00:22:58.319
right in this moment, are you like, yeah, this is fun.

446
00:23:00.119 --> 00:23:03.480
Maybe not, But piece is really sort of that the

447
00:23:03.519 --> 00:23:08.200
external circumstances like have no bearing. I mean, piece isn't

448
00:23:08.240 --> 00:23:11.400
something that we create. Piece is something that we allow

449
00:23:11.480 --> 00:23:15.039
when we've stripped away all the conditioning and all the judgment.

450
00:23:15.119 --> 00:23:17.240
It's the natural state that we have.

451
00:23:18.839 --> 00:23:22.359
But that's true. How do you we create conflict? We

452
00:23:22.400 --> 00:23:27.240
do some conflict. Well, some people say that constantly comes

453
00:23:27.279 --> 00:23:31.440
from our pain body, right, So how does how does

454
00:23:31.559 --> 00:23:32.559
peace feel?

455
00:23:32.680 --> 00:23:32.759
Like?

456
00:23:32.839 --> 00:23:35.200
How do you know that you have achieved peace? Because

457
00:23:35.200 --> 00:23:37.480
people walk around all the time saying, oh, yeah, I'm good,

458
00:23:37.480 --> 00:23:40.119
I'm good, But inside there's turmoil. There's all kinds of

459
00:23:40.279 --> 00:23:43.519
stuff stirring up in there. Right, kind of ties into

460
00:23:43.519 --> 00:23:46.920
our last conversation. So how can you tell when you

461
00:23:47.039 --> 00:23:48.480
have found inner piece?

462
00:23:49.160 --> 00:23:51.240
Mmm? I don't know.

463
00:23:51.240 --> 00:23:55.839
When I find it, I'll tell you darn it. We

464
00:23:55.920 --> 00:23:59.079
get experienced moments of piece. This is me being radically honest,

465
00:23:59.119 --> 00:24:02.319
because you know I I experienced moments of peace and

466
00:24:02.359 --> 00:24:05.200
then I got to get up and you know, oh,

467
00:24:05.240 --> 00:24:07.680
I got to make dinner and wait, it's something there,

468
00:24:07.680 --> 00:24:10.920
and I'm like a little annoyed. Am I out of peace? Yeah?

469
00:24:11.039 --> 00:24:14.119
I'm out of peace? If if I'm judging that there's

470
00:24:14.720 --> 00:24:18.200
I would without you know, I might say that there's

471
00:24:18.200 --> 00:24:23.680
something of a spectrum. But if your general relationship to

472
00:24:24.480 --> 00:24:26.880
your life, you know, I'm not talking this sort of

473
00:24:26.880 --> 00:24:30.720
the minor annoyance like you know, you run out of coffee.

474
00:24:30.759 --> 00:24:34.960
You're like, oh, you know, something like that, though it

475
00:24:35.000 --> 00:24:39.839
can't be really that was a bad example, the whole example.

476
00:24:41.960 --> 00:24:44.680
Little stuff that might be you know, you're like annoyed

477
00:24:44.680 --> 00:24:48.640
for a second. Fine, But if your general overall feelings

478
00:24:48.759 --> 00:24:54.920
like these, my life is not under threat right now,

479
00:24:56.480 --> 00:25:03.119
that these circumstances are not ones that challenge my existence,

480
00:25:05.759 --> 00:25:11.880
then you have a you have achieved a a modicum

481
00:25:11.880 --> 00:25:13.799
of peace. I knew you can't say that word monicum.

482
00:25:13.839 --> 00:25:14.240
I knew it.

483
00:25:14.279 --> 00:25:14.640
You knew it.

484
00:25:14.880 --> 00:25:16.359
You knew it. I did read in my mind.

485
00:25:16.200 --> 00:25:17.519
I did you know.

486
00:25:17.720 --> 00:25:20.640
It's interesting because, you know, so we work in TV

487
00:25:20.920 --> 00:25:23.519
and do a lot of podcasting and people will ask

488
00:25:23.599 --> 00:25:26.200
us to you know, critique their podcast or how can

489
00:25:26.279 --> 00:25:28.279
you know they make it better? And we talk about

490
00:25:28.319 --> 00:25:31.400
the audio a lot. And audio is one thing that

491
00:25:31.559 --> 00:25:34.799
if the audio is great, you won't notice, you'll listen

492
00:25:34.839 --> 00:25:37.200
to the podcast, you'll get the information. But if the

493
00:25:37.200 --> 00:25:40.920
audio sucks, you notice, And so now I'm thinking maybe

494
00:25:40.920 --> 00:25:42.799
that's kind of similar, like these moments of peace when

495
00:25:42.839 --> 00:25:44.920
you're in peace, maybe you're not noticing it, but you're

496
00:25:44.920 --> 00:25:46.799
getting annoyed that you see that the coffee is missing.

497
00:25:46.920 --> 00:25:48.440
I love them, or something like that.

498
00:25:48.480 --> 00:25:49.960
I love that. That's that's right.

499
00:25:50.160 --> 00:25:54.799
Maybe it's about me being more aware or appreciative.

500
00:25:55.079 --> 00:26:00.000
Right, But then let's let's now go from inward peace

501
00:26:00.200 --> 00:26:02.720
to outward peace. The world is.

502
00:26:02.640 --> 00:26:05.039
A mess right now, at mess.

503
00:26:05.200 --> 00:26:10.039
And us as spiritual seekers, we try to be at peace.

504
00:26:10.720 --> 00:26:11.039
M hm.

505
00:26:11.720 --> 00:26:14.680
But some of the stuff some people out there listening

506
00:26:14.759 --> 00:26:17.000
or watching might feel like their life is in danger

507
00:26:17.119 --> 00:26:20.039
because of some of the things that are happening. Absolutely, so,

508
00:26:20.160 --> 00:26:27.559
how can you reflect peace into the world without or

509
00:26:27.599 --> 00:26:32.359
become a spiritual activist without becoming or falling into the

510
00:26:32.599 --> 00:26:33.839
US versus them trap?

511
00:26:34.319 --> 00:26:40.039
Yeah, it's truly like the hardest work, right, Like, let's

512
00:26:40.079 --> 00:26:41.839
just be honest, that is I think some of the

513
00:26:41.920 --> 00:26:46.319
hardest things. And we began with a coffee example, as

514
00:26:46.319 --> 00:26:48.839
trivial as that is, and then you know, you want

515
00:26:48.880 --> 00:26:54.160
to talk about the state of the nation, international conflict.

516
00:26:54.279 --> 00:26:57.400
I mean, it's it's a natural transition I think I'm

517
00:26:57.440 --> 00:27:04.440
feeling very peaceful right better serenity over here. And really,

518
00:27:04.480 --> 00:27:10.400
the way I'd reframe it is peace is for me

519
00:27:11.039 --> 00:27:13.799
the state where you can be like, everything that is happening,

520
00:27:15.119 --> 00:27:19.119
no matter what it is, is in some way still

521
00:27:19.279 --> 00:27:26.440
operating for my highest good. Now, that means that peace

522
00:27:26.480 --> 00:27:32.119
can kind of almost coincide with or coexist with lots

523
00:27:32.119 --> 00:27:36.920
of other emotions, and we can be very kind of

524
00:27:37.920 --> 00:27:42.920
I want to say this, we can hold multiple positions

525
00:27:42.920 --> 00:27:46.000
at the same time and still in some level there

526
00:27:46.000 --> 00:27:48.880
can be a level peace. But we tend to lose

527
00:27:48.920 --> 00:27:53.119
it when we get into the world of let's say politics.

528
00:27:53.559 --> 00:27:57.720
Now we start talking about like this group, they're the problem.

529
00:27:59.359 --> 00:28:01.200
And they are by the way, but anyway with that,

530
00:28:01.359 --> 00:28:02.640
and they are by the way, but go ahead, and

531
00:28:02.720 --> 00:28:04.480
they are they are right to.

532
00:28:04.400 --> 00:28:07.839
Wherever they are. They're the problem, never me, It's always them.

533
00:28:09.079 --> 00:28:11.200
There was a brilliant episode of Black Mirror if you've

534
00:28:11.200 --> 00:28:14.000
ever seen it, I love Black Mary. Black Mirror is genius.

535
00:28:14.039 --> 00:28:16.359
On the episode about the Other, it was just like

536
00:28:16.400 --> 00:28:19.000
the other is the problem. Like the whole episode, it

537
00:28:19.079 --> 00:28:20.599
was like who was the other? It doesn't matter, it's

538
00:28:20.680 --> 00:28:26.960
the other. That's exactly it at the same time. And

539
00:28:27.039 --> 00:28:30.000
now I'm maybe I'm going to fall into a contradiction

540
00:28:30.039 --> 00:28:31.319
and I want you to call me out on it.

541
00:28:32.200 --> 00:28:35.559
But there are positions, there are ways of being in

542
00:28:35.599 --> 00:28:41.920
the world that are more compassionate and more empathetic and

543
00:28:42.039 --> 00:28:44.720
more aligned with like you have a right to exist

544
00:28:45.359 --> 00:28:49.839
than other positions too. There are people that definitely hold

545
00:28:49.880 --> 00:28:52.799
positions like those people shouldn't exist, Those people shouldn't Yeah,

546
00:28:52.960 --> 00:28:56.960
there are and and I think that we can agree

547
00:28:57.319 --> 00:29:02.799
without following. Those positions definitely give rise to conflict, like

548
00:29:03.000 --> 00:29:06.480
you telling somebody you should not exist on this planet, yes,

549
00:29:06.640 --> 00:29:09.799
versus like, hey, I want to exist and you have

550
00:29:09.880 --> 00:29:12.839
a right to exist, and if you just stop worrying

551
00:29:12.880 --> 00:29:16.839
about my existence, we'd be fine because my existence is

552
00:29:16.880 --> 00:29:19.119
not really a threat to you. That is your that

553
00:29:19.279 --> 00:29:22.599
is your internal conflict, right, and that the person that

554
00:29:22.720 --> 00:29:27.000
generates conflict is like I'm not at peace because somehow

555
00:29:27.039 --> 00:29:30.359
this is a threat to me the structure of consciousness, right,

556
00:29:30.440 --> 00:29:32.519
like the idea like we need to get rid of

557
00:29:32.559 --> 00:29:36.799
these people, these people who are different from me. And

558
00:29:36.839 --> 00:29:39.960
I know I'm being very generic here for me, I'm

559
00:29:39.960 --> 00:29:42.400
being a generic hear reason for your audience because I

560
00:29:42.440 --> 00:29:44.400
don't know who your audience.

561
00:29:44.920 --> 00:29:47.160
Yes, no, and we appreciate that because we don't either.

562
00:29:49.519 --> 00:29:52.839
Well, we think everybody, you know, no matter what side

563
00:29:52.839 --> 00:29:54.400
you're on, can benefit from these messages.

564
00:29:55.960 --> 00:30:00.839
If your view is like, actually, you're not a threat

565
00:30:00.880 --> 00:30:03.559
to me, right and the people that we think of

566
00:30:03.599 --> 00:30:06.519
as a threat to us. That goes back to the

567
00:30:06.599 --> 00:30:08.720
sort of inner work, because you haven't done the inner work.

568
00:30:08.920 --> 00:30:14.759
Why does that quality, that difference in gender so much

569
00:30:14.839 --> 00:30:18.680
fear and anxiety in you about the state of the world.

570
00:30:20.000 --> 00:30:23.039
You know it, You know that is the biggest question.

571
00:30:24.279 --> 00:30:27.480
Why does it? Why does it? How do how is

572
00:30:27.480 --> 00:30:32.599
that so threatening to someone that they're being different makes

573
00:30:32.680 --> 00:30:36.359
them feel threatened? You go back to the ancient days,

574
00:30:36.440 --> 00:30:39.720
right that we're talking about the Salem witch trials and

575
00:30:39.839 --> 00:30:43.799
the Crusades, and it was it's always you are different

576
00:30:43.880 --> 00:30:49.160
than me, and so you shouldn't exist. So can you

577
00:30:49.240 --> 00:30:52.880
can you come to terms with why someone would feel

578
00:30:53.160 --> 00:30:56.400
it so threatened by the differences?

579
00:30:56.920 --> 00:31:01.079
I mean, I find it perplexing as some who's like, what,

580
00:31:01.559 --> 00:31:05.400
you know, why is that difference threatening to you? Your

581
00:31:05.440 --> 00:31:08.680
existence is not really under threat just by the mere

582
00:31:08.720 --> 00:31:11.759
existence of this person. And very often these conflicts end

583
00:31:11.839 --> 00:31:14.880
up creating the conditions by which they sort of make

584
00:31:14.920 --> 00:31:17.759
them into threats, because some side takes action to eliminate

585
00:31:17.799 --> 00:31:20.279
the other, and the other one responds, and therefore there

586
00:31:20.319 --> 00:31:24.440
are actually threatening to know, there's existence at that point, right, right,

587
00:31:24.759 --> 00:31:29.319
And so we end up producing the very thing that

588
00:31:29.359 --> 00:31:33.920
we were worried about because we were scared. And some

589
00:31:34.000 --> 00:31:36.680
part of it's sort of a primal reptilian brain at

590
00:31:36.720 --> 00:31:39.400
work of like difference. I don't know, you know, I suppose,

591
00:31:39.519 --> 00:31:42.240
you know, going back is like, oh, there's the sabertooth tiger,

592
00:31:42.640 --> 00:31:48.799
you know, right, but we forget that, you know, people

593
00:31:49.400 --> 00:31:52.200
like there's a difference, and then there's the discourse around

594
00:31:52.240 --> 00:31:54.720
it and the beliefs around it and what those people do,

595
00:31:55.160 --> 00:31:58.599
and we would have to get really specific, I think

596
00:31:58.640 --> 00:32:02.799
around an example, to sort of unwine the beliefs that

597
00:32:02.880 --> 00:32:06.480
we start attaching. But then people develop biases and they

598
00:32:06.519 --> 00:32:09.880
develop prejudice, and they're like, this is the way these

599
00:32:10.039 --> 00:32:12.920
people are in kind of a sweeping way.

600
00:32:14.000 --> 00:32:17.359
I have a theory. Yes, Now, a lot of this

601
00:32:18.400 --> 00:32:21.119
probably comes from the pain body, right, the need to

602
00:32:21.240 --> 00:32:24.519
create conflict in order to make themselves feel better.

603
00:32:25.839 --> 00:32:26.839
But I think a lot.

604
00:32:26.680 --> 00:32:30.960
Of that deep rooted dislike for someone just because they're

605
00:32:31.000 --> 00:32:35.960
different might come from a position of fear within themselves.

606
00:32:37.480 --> 00:32:42.960
I think somewhere inside they are afraid either maybe I'm

607
00:32:43.079 --> 00:32:47.440
like that, or you're going to do something to me

608
00:32:47.640 --> 00:32:51.079
that I am going to be threatened by. And so

609
00:32:51.200 --> 00:32:55.400
that fear, that hatred comes from inside and they externalize

610
00:32:55.400 --> 00:33:00.400
it and it doesn't really matter who as long as

611
00:33:00.400 --> 00:33:02.359
they have someone to point to.

612
00:33:02.640 --> 00:33:06.400
Sometimes, right, I think it's about control, trying to control

613
00:33:06.440 --> 00:33:08.799
your environment. And if you go way back and you know,

614
00:33:08.839 --> 00:33:12.039
you have these two I don't know people, and one

615
00:33:12.039 --> 00:33:14.079
guy wants to control everything, and he's big and strong,

616
00:33:14.079 --> 00:33:15.720
and everyone's kind of doing what he's saying, and so

617
00:33:15.799 --> 00:33:17.240
the guy's like, oh, that's fine for you, but I

618
00:33:17.279 --> 00:33:20.200
don't necessarily accept that. Well, these people might start following

619
00:33:20.200 --> 00:33:21.400
that guy. So I got to get rid of that

620
00:33:21.400 --> 00:33:23.119
guy so that I can keep control of these people.

621
00:33:25.480 --> 00:33:27.839
No, this is a very different episode. Yeah, I feel like.

622
00:33:27.839 --> 00:33:30.680
We've got into this cultural anthropology, which I love because

623
00:33:30.680 --> 00:33:32.440
I have a degree in anthology.

624
00:33:31.920 --> 00:33:37.519
But is a skeptic anthropologists. The piece that I think

625
00:33:37.559 --> 00:33:41.039
for the podcast it's important because I hate to break

626
00:33:41.039 --> 00:33:42.559
it to you, I'm not going to solve the issue

627
00:33:42.559 --> 00:33:45.799
of world peace. Uh man, I know right, you know,

628
00:33:46.119 --> 00:33:50.039
I thought I had the book. I wrote a book. Well,

629
00:33:50.119 --> 00:33:53.960
I channeled the book. But the key piece is that

630
00:33:56.039 --> 00:33:58.519
people in the spiritual world, we love to think that

631
00:33:58.599 --> 00:34:00.799
piece is just like around the corner. It's just like

632
00:34:00.880 --> 00:34:04.440
going to show up, you know, It's like it's next year.

633
00:34:05.079 --> 00:34:10.440
It's showing up newers. And when I ask people, it's like, Okay,

634
00:34:10.639 --> 00:34:17.360
we're all doing what karens is. We're all holding hands kumbayah.

635
00:34:19.079 --> 00:34:24.039
We have a moment of world peace. Okay, now we

636
00:34:24.119 --> 00:34:26.280
got to get back to our lives. We're all feeling

637
00:34:26.360 --> 00:34:32.440
really good about ourselves. Okay, who's running things? Where are

638
00:34:32.440 --> 00:34:35.760
we getting food? Who's doing this or that? Like all

639
00:34:35.840 --> 00:34:37.920
the things Like I ask myself all the time, what

640
00:34:37.960 --> 00:34:41.679
does a world look like where we all like regard

641
00:34:41.760 --> 00:34:46.239
each other with love and empathy and like divine beings.

642
00:34:46.280 --> 00:34:49.280
It's like, okay, so what kind of laws do we

643
00:34:49.320 --> 00:34:52.360
have in place? When do we need laws? Who would

644
00:34:52.440 --> 00:34:55.119
enforce the laws? Do we need police officers? Like these

645
00:34:55.159 --> 00:34:57.840
are the questions, and people are like, ah, don't worry

646
00:34:57.880 --> 00:35:05.440
about it. The newors is coming, right. Do we have

647
00:35:05.519 --> 00:35:08.280
world leaders? Do we have one name. You know, like,

648
00:35:08.320 --> 00:35:09.679
this is stuff that I think about.

649
00:35:09.800 --> 00:35:11.639
Well, thankfully we don't have to worry about that much longer.

650
00:35:11.639 --> 00:35:17.079
We have our friend Ai to handle all that for us, right, careful.

651
00:35:18.639 --> 00:35:19.360
Edit point there.

652
00:35:19.599 --> 00:35:23.440
So let's talk about paradox because in your book Endless

653
00:35:23.519 --> 00:35:27.559
Awakening you write about paradox is a path. Right, what

654
00:35:27.599 --> 00:35:29.159
do you mean by that? Exactly?

655
00:35:29.960 --> 00:35:33.320
Yeah? For me, and this goes back to kind of

656
00:35:33.360 --> 00:35:37.440
the way in which we get stuck and get bypassed

657
00:35:37.480 --> 00:35:41.639
and start bypassing, which is that you know, we mostly have.

658
00:35:42.239 --> 00:35:44.280
You know, we have an awakening experience, whether we're hit

659
00:35:44.280 --> 00:35:46.880
by two by four, a tree, whatever it is, you know,

660
00:35:47.000 --> 00:35:49.360
knocks us up. We wake up, We're like, oh my gosh,

661
00:35:49.880 --> 00:35:52.159
how amazing is this? Oh? Everything I thought about the

662
00:35:52.199 --> 00:35:57.760
world is different. Okay, where's enlightenment. I'm ready? Oh wait,

663
00:35:57.800 --> 00:36:01.239
I'm still stuck. And we kind of get a before

664
00:36:01.280 --> 00:36:05.480
and after before wakening, after wakening my identity, and then

665
00:36:05.599 --> 00:36:07.440
you know, sometimes people are on a like I'm on

666
00:36:07.480 --> 00:36:11.039
an ascension path, you know, I'm ascending, and it's like, okay,

667
00:36:11.719 --> 00:36:14.519
next level, next level? Wait, no, why am I not

668
00:36:14.639 --> 00:36:17.960
there yet? We get this set of linear time path

669
00:36:20.239 --> 00:36:23.800
and for me, it comes back to how the mind works.

670
00:36:23.800 --> 00:36:27.840
It's just like that's not that's that that very construct

671
00:36:27.840 --> 00:36:30.760
of like this is what happened to you? Is like

672
00:36:30.920 --> 00:36:34.880
that story is itself a product of an old consciousness

673
00:36:34.880 --> 00:36:37.400
that I had it before awakening and after wakening, And

674
00:36:37.440 --> 00:36:39.559
there's a lot of judgment about who we were before

675
00:36:41.599 --> 00:36:44.239
and when we get into paradox, it's sort of like,

676
00:36:44.280 --> 00:36:47.840
can we hold multiple mutually exclusive positions together at the

677
00:36:47.880 --> 00:36:51.039
same time. Can we say that we're whole and still healing?

678
00:36:51.239 --> 00:36:54.039
Can we say that we're never and always in the

679
00:36:54.039 --> 00:36:56.960
present moment? And what does that mean? Can we say

680
00:36:56.960 --> 00:37:01.920
that I am mortal and immortal at the same time?

681
00:37:02.400 --> 00:37:07.199
Like when we kind of start to let our minds

682
00:37:07.360 --> 00:37:14.760
hold contradiction, then we're actually more at peace. The person

683
00:37:14.800 --> 00:37:19.320
that's like, I am always going to be non judgmental

684
00:37:19.880 --> 00:37:22.119
and then because that's a wonderful thing to be as

685
00:37:22.119 --> 00:37:27.559
a spiritual person. And then you get pissed off like

686
00:37:27.559 --> 00:37:31.920
though I'm a bad person as opposed to I am

687
00:37:32.440 --> 00:37:36.760
whole and still healing, like that I hold multitudes.

688
00:37:37.000 --> 00:37:41.880
Well, all this talk of being stuck and finding a

689
00:37:41.920 --> 00:37:46.840
way to be at peace when everything is getting crazy,

690
00:37:46.960 --> 00:37:50.280
you've kind of danced around it. But the big thing

691
00:37:50.360 --> 00:37:54.800
there is how does someone who is very much living

692
00:37:54.760 --> 00:37:58.440
in three D going through their professional They're working in

693
00:37:58.480 --> 00:38:01.679
a job nine to five or whatever it is, and

694
00:38:01.760 --> 00:38:04.119
yet want they need they want to break out, they

695
00:38:04.159 --> 00:38:08.760
want to spiritually awaken. If only there was a program

696
00:38:09.440 --> 00:38:13.119
that could do something like that, that could help people

697
00:38:13.239 --> 00:38:16.079
do that. I believe that you're going to announce something

698
00:38:16.079 --> 00:38:17.920
on the show today, right. It's something that you might

699
00:38:17.920 --> 00:38:19.480
be like launching or something.

700
00:38:19.599 --> 00:38:23.559
Imagine will I think I think you might be an intuitively,

701
00:38:23.760 --> 00:38:28.960
you know, I don't like to brag, but in fact

702
00:38:29.000 --> 00:38:32.920
I am, you know, working with people a lot over

703
00:38:32.960 --> 00:38:34.679
the years. People come to me for readings and I

704
00:38:34.679 --> 00:38:36.679
see them you know, here and there, and they come

705
00:38:36.719 --> 00:38:39.679
in and sometimes they want to do multiple readings. Sometimes

706
00:38:39.719 --> 00:38:42.760
I send them to a therapist. Sometimes I say okay,

707
00:38:42.800 --> 00:38:45.039
just go do this and work on you know. Then

708
00:38:45.039 --> 00:38:48.599
they circle back like six months later, and there's sort

709
00:38:48.599 --> 00:38:50.719
of not that AD made a lot of progress or

710
00:38:50.719 --> 00:38:54.079
they made some progress. And what I realized is that

711
00:38:54.119 --> 00:38:57.079
I really wanted to start working with people who were

712
00:38:57.159 --> 00:39:02.199
kind of in my shoes, which is that is, people

713
00:39:02.239 --> 00:39:05.079
who are professionals in some way, who are you know,

714
00:39:05.159 --> 00:39:07.599
going to a job. It doesn't have to be being

715
00:39:07.639 --> 00:39:09.199
a lawyer, you know, it can be anything. It was

716
00:39:09.199 --> 00:39:11.840
just like you've you've committed to a certain path in life,

717
00:39:11.880 --> 00:39:14.199
and then all of a sudden you realize there's really

718
00:39:14.239 --> 00:39:16.679
more to life than this. How do I make sense

719
00:39:16.719 --> 00:39:18.880
of this? And how do I go to my job?

720
00:39:18.920 --> 00:39:20.719
How do I just how do I be a doctor

721
00:39:20.840 --> 00:39:23.079
or being corporate or be a teacher whatever it is

722
00:39:23.119 --> 00:39:26.920
that you're doing being a lawyer and still do this.

723
00:39:27.760 --> 00:39:30.159
You know, so many people hit that and they're like, oh, okay,

724
00:39:30.199 --> 00:39:33.000
this is meaningless or how do I find meaning and

725
00:39:33.079 --> 00:39:36.679
success in this and still feel like I'm honoring being

726
00:39:36.679 --> 00:39:39.360
a divine you know, a spiritual being. So yeah, I

727
00:39:39.440 --> 00:39:43.320
created a program. It's a one year community a membership

728
00:39:43.360 --> 00:39:47.199
program where we do a lot of deep work. It's

729
00:39:47.239 --> 00:39:51.119
because you know, it takes time to do this stuff,

730
00:39:51.760 --> 00:39:54.119
do the inner work, and we often need to do

731
00:39:54.159 --> 00:39:55.880
it in a relationship. And I find a lot of

732
00:39:55.920 --> 00:39:58.760
people come to me and they're like, yeah, I'm doing

733
00:39:58.760 --> 00:40:02.039
this on the DL right, Like you're not going into

734
00:40:02.039 --> 00:40:04.079
the firm, they're not going to their car, you're not

735
00:40:04.199 --> 00:40:09.840
listing it on LinkedIn or right right, you know, they're like,

736
00:40:10.079 --> 00:40:12.880
are there other lawyers? Are their doctors. I'm like, yeah,

737
00:40:12.960 --> 00:40:14.559
they come to see me. But it's all on the

738
00:40:14.639 --> 00:40:17.679
dal like you know, of course, which I get. You

739
00:40:17.719 --> 00:40:21.599
know I get, and so yeah, I'm I've launched a

740
00:40:21.679 --> 00:40:23.480
program so if people want to come to my website

741
00:40:23.519 --> 00:40:26.280
and get more info. Right, but it's a place where

742
00:40:26.679 --> 00:40:31.039
I am typically very like our conversation today, we weren't

743
00:40:31.079 --> 00:40:35.679
really getting into Kundalini and Chakras and all kashak records. Listen,

744
00:40:35.679 --> 00:40:38.400
I can talk that talk. I love that talk, but

745
00:40:39.000 --> 00:40:40.800
you know that's not what you need most of the time.

746
00:40:40.840 --> 00:40:44.159
When you're like I'm at the office and I'm feeling

747
00:40:44.199 --> 00:40:48.360
stressed and like I'm working twelve hour days of work

748
00:40:48.519 --> 00:40:50.159
or whatever it is that you're dealing with, then you're

749
00:40:50.199 --> 00:40:53.719
sort of managing to use your language. You're managing life

750
00:40:53.719 --> 00:40:56.800
in three D material reality. We gotta we gotta work,

751
00:40:56.800 --> 00:40:57.840
we gotta pay bills.

752
00:40:59.239 --> 00:41:02.360
So then you can to help people's professional people to

753
00:41:02.519 --> 00:41:09.199
find that that tone tipping the balance, the bounce beam right,

754
00:41:09.480 --> 00:41:11.199
working on the balance beam, that the tight rope.

755
00:41:11.239 --> 00:41:12.039
That's what I was looking for.

756
00:41:12.360 --> 00:41:14.480
You're going to help people walk down tightrope that is

757
00:41:14.519 --> 00:41:17.719
so critical in this day and age because no one

758
00:41:17.719 --> 00:41:19.119
wants to be out in well, we've.

759
00:41:19.000 --> 00:41:21.519
Been talking about it a lot lately, that it is.

760
00:41:21.559 --> 00:41:25.199
It's it's doctors and lawyers and computer people, everybody. Very

761
00:41:25.239 --> 00:41:27.599
mainstream type people are in this space now. So I

762
00:41:27.840 --> 00:41:30.920
always call it covert mainstream because they're like, you know,

763
00:41:31.000 --> 00:41:34.440
on the down low. But they're just like the regular people, right.

764
00:41:34.360 --> 00:41:37.280
Yeah, they're just regular people. They're like, where do I go?

765
00:41:37.559 --> 00:41:40.400
Yep, you know, but there's still that kind of stigma.

766
00:41:41.679 --> 00:41:42.079
So does it.

767
00:41:42.280 --> 00:41:44.079
And we're going to add a link to your website

768
00:41:44.079 --> 00:41:46.800
so people can reach out to your join that community

769
00:41:46.920 --> 00:41:49.440
and make it easy for them. But when they first

770
00:41:49.440 --> 00:41:51.800
reach out to you, do like you do a reading

771
00:41:51.840 --> 00:41:53.960
for them to kind of get them on the path first,

772
00:41:54.039 --> 00:41:54.800
or how does that work?

773
00:41:55.360 --> 00:41:57.920
So where if people want to urge in the program,

774
00:41:57.960 --> 00:41:59.679
like they can come talk to me about where they are,

775
00:41:59.800 --> 00:42:01.559
what they're doing. You know, I want to make sure

776
00:42:01.760 --> 00:42:03.480
this is going to be right for them, because some

777
00:42:03.519 --> 00:42:07.199
people like actually might benefit from working with somebody else.

778
00:42:07.480 --> 00:42:10.199
And if they want to have a reading, then I

779
00:42:10.199 --> 00:42:12.280
will do a reading because some people know that usually

780
00:42:12.360 --> 00:42:15.400
in a course of a kind of you know, just

781
00:42:15.440 --> 00:42:17.400
a conversation, there'll be a little bit of a mini

782
00:42:17.440 --> 00:42:19.400
reading so they get a sense of kind of what

783
00:42:19.480 --> 00:42:21.400
it is, you know, say, yeah, so there will be

784
00:42:21.639 --> 00:42:23.679
some of that, and if somebody wants to like a

785
00:42:23.800 --> 00:42:27.400
full on reading, then yeah, we can schedule that separately.

786
00:42:27.480 --> 00:42:28.760
That's okay.

787
00:42:29.559 --> 00:42:33.840
Well, speaking of readings, yeah, you did mention before we

788
00:42:33.880 --> 00:42:38.119
started recording that you had gotten a lot, like pages

789
00:42:38.199 --> 00:42:41.559
upon pages of stuff on us. So I'm really curious

790
00:42:41.920 --> 00:42:43.000
there's books.

791
00:42:46.079 --> 00:42:49.480
You graciously agreed to do a mini reading on us.

792
00:42:49.519 --> 00:42:52.960
And well, so the way I read just so that

793
00:42:53.000 --> 00:42:55.519
people know, because everybody ever, there's lots of readers out

794
00:42:55.519 --> 00:42:57.840
there and they do different things. And you know, I

795
00:42:58.159 --> 00:43:00.400
have like colleagues that I'm like, oh, if you want this,

796
00:43:00.519 --> 00:43:02.199
go to this reader. If you want this, go to

797
00:43:02.239 --> 00:43:09.679
that reader. So typically when I start reading somebody, and

798
00:43:09.840 --> 00:43:12.199
it was interesting because it was reading two of you

799
00:43:12.800 --> 00:43:15.440
and sort of who wanted to come in first.

800
00:43:16.079 --> 00:43:18.000
We're kind of like the same person though, so you know,

801
00:43:18.440 --> 00:43:20.400
we're kind of like the same person, So it doesn't you.

802
00:43:20.360 --> 00:43:30.800
Know, are you yes read? Yes, yes we are. I

803
00:43:30.840 --> 00:43:36.239
will reveal nothing impertinent, but often so when I read people,

804
00:43:36.320 --> 00:43:38.480
some people go they're like, I want to know what's

805
00:43:38.519 --> 00:43:41.719
happening in six months, what's happening. I'm like, I'm not

806
00:43:41.719 --> 00:43:44.159
that kind of reader. Like I read and I sort

807
00:43:44.159 --> 00:43:46.760
of get a snapshot of you and what's going on

808
00:43:46.920 --> 00:43:48.519
and the things that are coming through instead of where

809
00:43:48.519 --> 00:43:53.440
you're at with the idea of the evolution of your

810
00:43:53.480 --> 00:43:56.880
consciousness of who are you trying to you know, as

811
00:43:56.880 --> 00:44:00.480
you're on a growth path towards connecting with your soul

812
00:44:00.559 --> 00:44:07.119
and coming back into wholeness. Perfect. Yeah, and so interesting.

813
00:44:07.199 --> 00:44:09.440
I'll be curious to see how you react to this.

814
00:44:09.679 --> 00:44:13.159
It's interesting because I've got my notes and I'm trying

815
00:44:13.199 --> 00:44:15.400
to I'm sort of trying to turn the dial because

816
00:44:15.400 --> 00:44:19.360
I'm used to reading people without having like chatted for

817
00:44:19.480 --> 00:44:22.320
you know, fifty five minutes about the thundery of pet

818
00:44:22.920 --> 00:44:24.920
I'm really up here now, But you know, we're going

819
00:44:25.000 --> 00:44:27.440
to go with it. We could have started with this

820
00:44:27.519 --> 00:44:30.519
is great. It's I'm just coming back to my notes.

821
00:44:30.679 --> 00:44:33.880
So when I first tune into somebody, usually get a

822
00:44:33.920 --> 00:44:36.719
sense of what they're like, kind of like personality wise,

823
00:44:36.760 --> 00:44:39.000
the energy they show up in the world. And so

824
00:44:39.119 --> 00:44:40.880
I'm just going to share with you what came through

825
00:44:41.039 --> 00:44:45.559
and then as I share and the dial sort of turns.

826
00:44:45.559 --> 00:44:46.800
This is the way it feels in my head, is

827
00:44:46.840 --> 00:44:48.760
like a dial turns, and I'm just sort of in

828
00:44:48.880 --> 00:44:52.880
another space. So if you start asking me about, you know,

829
00:44:52.960 --> 00:44:55.679
my books, I'm gonna be like, no, I don't know

830
00:44:55.679 --> 00:44:57.920
anything about that. So I want to talk about Will

831
00:44:58.039 --> 00:44:59.119
because Will came.

832
00:44:58.920 --> 00:45:01.800
Through first as he is wanted to do.

833
00:45:02.280 --> 00:45:06.679
That's true, which has nothing to do with Eddie. Although

834
00:45:06.760 --> 00:45:08.960
everything about a reading, I say this to you, everything

835
00:45:09.000 --> 00:45:11.360
about a reading is part of the reading. Who comes

836
00:45:11.760 --> 00:45:15.280
like what shows up first in the order. But this

837
00:45:15.360 --> 00:45:17.920
is a mini reading, not a full honor. So what

838
00:45:18.119 --> 00:45:22.079
was interesting what came through first about you Will was

839
00:45:22.360 --> 00:45:28.599
I'm reading the word simple and that was not a mental,

840
00:45:29.039 --> 00:45:32.119
I want to be clear, a mental.

841
00:45:32.639 --> 00:45:33.960
There's no ton at the end of that.

842
00:45:34.079 --> 00:45:36.519
Okay, thanks for joining us. Patrick has been a pleasure

843
00:45:36.519 --> 00:45:43.880
to media about how you like to think keep things uncomplicated,

844
00:45:43.960 --> 00:45:47.840
Like there's just something about too much busyness of and

845
00:45:47.880 --> 00:45:53.679
it too messy. There was something about things being basic

846
00:45:53.840 --> 00:45:56.760
and essential for you that like, I don't know, it's

847
00:45:56.800 --> 00:45:59.920
like you were not fussy. You're not a fussy guy.

848
00:46:00.320 --> 00:46:03.320
As what was coming through for me and I'm trying

849
00:46:03.360 --> 00:46:06.119
to get back to my nose. It wasn't aesthetic, like

850
00:46:06.159 --> 00:46:08.840
you're not a minimalist, like like you need everything to

851
00:46:08.920 --> 00:46:13.079
be like, you know, clean, with clean surfaces. It was

852
00:46:13.119 --> 00:46:17.400
like there's something about being very straightforward, like I keep saying,

853
00:46:17.599 --> 00:46:21.519
don't try to be too fussy, and so I don't

854
00:46:21.599 --> 00:46:24.360
know what that's like in terms of your actual personality.

855
00:46:24.360 --> 00:46:26.880
If you're just like I like things kind of basic.

856
00:46:26.960 --> 00:46:29.400
I like things kind of simple. I don't need things

857
00:46:29.400 --> 00:46:33.320
to be too fussy and too fancy. So I just

858
00:46:33.360 --> 00:46:36.599
want to connect there. What do you think? I don't know.

859
00:46:38.440 --> 00:46:41.039
I have to think about that. Yeah, yeah, what do

860
00:46:41.079 --> 00:46:41.360
you think?

861
00:46:42.679 --> 00:46:47.559
I was just talking about how I want to simplify things.

862
00:46:48.840 --> 00:46:52.199
Maybe you're wanting to simplify things. Maybe that's what was

863
00:46:52.199 --> 00:46:54.639
coming through because you do have a kind of a

864
00:46:54.679 --> 00:46:55.360
lot going on.

865
00:46:55.800 --> 00:46:59.320
Yes, but well you may be busy, but are your style?

866
00:47:00.199 --> 00:47:08.559
Are you? You strike me like you're not a fussy Dresser's.

867
00:47:07.480 --> 00:47:10.239
You can be fussy about it, just it depends. He's

868
00:47:10.239 --> 00:47:16.320
a chameleon, my chameleion. So then what came through for

869
00:47:16.400 --> 00:47:20.719
you was a message about being an old or older soul.

870
00:47:22.920 --> 00:47:25.199
First he called me a bad dresser. Now he's calling

871
00:47:25.239 --> 00:47:33.280
me old. I said that you were into what was essential, right, okay.

872
00:47:33.639 --> 00:47:34.039
And.

873
00:47:35.599 --> 00:47:40.159
What came through was interesting is your path And this

874
00:47:40.199 --> 00:47:45.119
does tie in with the simplicity is about the path

875
00:47:45.280 --> 00:47:51.719
requires no effort, none at all. And your path to

876
00:47:51.840 --> 00:47:57.800
being really like your path was to take as much

877
00:47:57.920 --> 00:48:03.400
effort out of your path. And what's amazing about that

878
00:48:03.559 --> 00:48:09.000
read is how it came through is take effort out

879
00:48:09.039 --> 00:48:14.920
of your path. Is requires effort and sort of to

880
00:48:15.039 --> 00:48:19.159
play with the contradiction because it's not about doing nothing,

881
00:48:20.679 --> 00:48:24.800
but the more that you can let go of effort.

882
00:48:25.400 --> 00:48:33.119
Something about your path is about simplicity the basics. It's

883
00:48:33.239 --> 00:48:37.000
not about being busy, it's not about being fussy. It's

884
00:48:37.320 --> 00:48:43.960
just playing with that contradiction, taking effort out of like

885
00:48:44.000 --> 00:48:48.480
playing with that almost paradox, how do I effort my

886
00:48:48.559 --> 00:48:52.800
way out of effort? See I've gotten.

887
00:48:54.119 --> 00:48:59.320
That guidance before and it makes great sense because I'm

888
00:48:59.320 --> 00:49:03.239
the guy that really I teased it a little bit,

889
00:49:03.280 --> 00:49:06.079
but astral projection was the big thing for me, and

890
00:49:06.119 --> 00:49:09.239
I've tried for forty years to get out of my

891
00:49:09.360 --> 00:49:09.880
damn body.

892
00:49:09.920 --> 00:49:11.639
Never has You need to get out of your way.

893
00:49:12.239 --> 00:49:14.119
You need to not get out of your You don't

894
00:49:14.119 --> 00:49:15.960
need to get out of your body. You don't need

895
00:49:15.960 --> 00:49:18.519
to get it. Yeah, you can need all the effort,

896
00:49:18.679 --> 00:49:23.039
all the trying. It's like when you really when you

897
00:49:23.079 --> 00:49:29.480
put your stuff down, all of it. This is when

898
00:49:29.519 --> 00:49:33.440
you put your stuff down, like literally, like I don't

899
00:49:33.519 --> 00:49:38.079
have to do anything with this. That's your path. It's

900
00:49:38.119 --> 00:49:43.559
like your path is like really simplified. At any time

901
00:49:43.599 --> 00:49:47.360
that you're like, oh, I need to like do X

902
00:49:47.519 --> 00:49:50.599
Y and Z, oh N, ABC and D, the answer

903
00:49:50.639 --> 00:49:56.239
is no, don't get there, put it down. Okay. It's

904
00:49:56.280 --> 00:49:59.239
so funny. It's such a funny path for you.

905
00:49:59.239 --> 00:50:02.239
So we were having dinner with a friend a long

906
00:50:02.239 --> 00:50:05.920
time ago, and same thing. He channeled something from him

907
00:50:05.920 --> 00:50:08.159
and it was four of us sitting at a table

908
00:50:08.199 --> 00:50:09.719
and he just turned to me and he was talking

909
00:50:09.760 --> 00:50:14.320
directly to me and no one else about you're trying

910
00:50:14.400 --> 00:50:14.880
too hard.

911
00:50:15.360 --> 00:50:16.440
Yeah, just relax.

912
00:50:16.760 --> 00:50:19.360
Everything you need is inside you. Just relax and just

913
00:50:19.440 --> 00:50:21.719
let everything go and it will come to you. So

914
00:50:21.920 --> 00:50:26.760
you are reinforcing that message that I got and I

915
00:50:28.480 --> 00:50:33.440
get it, but I don't get it right because the

916
00:50:33.599 --> 00:50:36.400
effort that it takes to like go of effort is

917
00:50:36.719 --> 00:50:37.440
a lot of effort.

918
00:50:37.880 --> 00:50:38.599
Well, I think.

919
00:50:38.480 --> 00:50:43.119
Because so much of you you define yourself by your accomplishments,

920
00:50:43.239 --> 00:50:47.519
by your outside accomplishments. Yes, always have and people's approval

921
00:50:47.519 --> 00:50:50.360
of that. So for you to let that go is

922
00:50:50.480 --> 00:50:52.960
very difficult to do. So it's work for you to

923
00:50:53.039 --> 00:50:54.480
let that go. And it feels uncomfortable.

924
00:50:54.519 --> 00:50:59.000
Yeah, so I'm feeling a littlettacked. Yeah, if like maybe seen.

925
00:50:59.079 --> 00:51:03.719
Is more like I'm sorry. Well, it's a wonderful buntry,

926
00:51:03.880 --> 00:51:06.400
the thing is. And it's it's interesting because it was

927
00:51:06.440 --> 00:51:10.559
also very you. You can get there in this lifetime.

928
00:51:11.599 --> 00:51:16.840
You can get to that space of like, oh me

929
00:51:17.039 --> 00:51:22.280
being will like requires no effort, and it's also is

930
00:51:22.320 --> 00:51:27.000
available to you if you stop. This is I'm literally

931
00:51:27.039 --> 00:51:29.559
reading my why do you stop trying so hard to

932
00:51:29.599 --> 00:51:33.559
get there? And there was this anxiety that I started

933
00:51:33.599 --> 00:51:35.440
to feel, will I get there? Will I get there?

934
00:51:35.480 --> 00:51:37.400
Will I get there? And my heart was raised.

935
00:51:37.559 --> 00:51:40.639
Well, it's funny because the path that has called to

936
00:51:40.679 --> 00:51:43.199
me the most my entire life without really realizing, and

937
00:51:43.239 --> 00:51:46.519
I've not really done anything about it, has been Zen Buddhism,

938
00:51:46.639 --> 00:51:50.960
like Z that's always always called to me, and yet

939
00:51:51.000 --> 00:51:52.360
have never done anything about it.

940
00:51:52.760 --> 00:51:55.199
Oh my gosh, so what this is what I love?

941
00:51:55.800 --> 00:51:59.079
So I know you were like, so I know when

942
00:51:59.119 --> 00:52:01.760
my read feels like right, and you were like, I'm

943
00:52:01.760 --> 00:52:05.119
not simple, I'm you know what I love about Zen

944
00:52:05.280 --> 00:52:09.400
because then was my starting place. Then was my opening.

945
00:52:09.760 --> 00:52:12.360
I went to Zen and I was like, oh, this

946
00:52:12.599 --> 00:52:15.440
stuff and it was no deism whatsoever because I was

947
00:52:15.599 --> 00:52:19.480
so closed off. It's

Intuitive and Author

I am a spiritual author and intuitive guide who assists individuals in connecting with their inner wisdom and higher self. Previously, I was a professor of Spanish literature and a lawyer. In 2000, I earned a Ph.D. at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and taught at the University of Iowa and Northwestern University. In 2009, I earned my J.D., magna cum laude, at NYU School of Law. After two clerkships with federal judges, I practiced law as a litigator in Manhattan.

Although literature and law might seem far from the world of spirituality, they have deeply informed my understanding of language, storytelling, social structures, and psychology as they bear on the human experience. I therefore bring to the field of spirituality a unique perspective informed by a rigorous engagement with language, literary and cultural theory, psychoanalysis, and the law.

My spiritual awakening coincided with my legal career, beginning with yoga and meditation, followed by a series of encounters with spiritual teachers in 2010. In 2016, after years of meditation, spiritual study, and healing practices, I experienced a kundalini awakening that transformed my consciousness and opened up my psychic faculties. In 2018, I transitioned from law to writing, as well as offering intuitive readings and teaching various workshops and online courses on spirituality and intuition.

I have published numerous works and articles.

I have published three channeled works. Seeds of Light: Channeled Transmissions on the Christ Consciousness (Anastasis Books, 2017) was awarded the…Read More
